Haiku #3603
Haiku #3603! The one I just wrote, “where is she.” I’m the only person really keeping score, and it doesn’t matter… really. That’s including all my haiku blogs. I might be off a few. If I am, then there are more! lol!
But little Pearley, my special outdoor cat pet for many years, has disappeared and I’m not in a good place at all… about that. :( This past winter was unusually difficult, as some of you might know from your own winter experiences, or from some of my haiku. She had a very difficult time of it. The snows disoriented her, and often she would run from me like she didn’t know me. This was very upsetting to me, of course. And there have been more cats than usual hanging around, since there’s food, and I guess the harshing winter. But she got through it and made it to spring, only to disappear. That’s the sort of irony I can do without. Didn’t Alanis Morissette write a song about that? The title is “Ironic.” How did she come up with such a title? anyway…
So it’s good to find something to bring out a little bit of enthusiasm. Not that much right now, though. If Pearley doesn’t resurface, it might be a while before my own happy self resurfaces. At least fully.
where is she
spring winds bring duststorms
but I stand, windblown, to ask
where is she, friend moon?
loudly I call
loudly I call her
she hears me, and all the birds …
rolling in the grass!

the old cat – haiku
getting home from work,
I stretch out on my long couch…
the old cat joins me.
